Three decisions that will change your life in 2012
Dear Partners and friends,
2012 has taken off like no other year for me. I’m so thankful to God for what this year promises to be. I also want take this time to thank all our partners and friends for praying and standing with us in 2011.
Let’s get right into the post!
Some time ago a friend made this statement “Hari, It’s just another year, what’s the big deal.” The statement comes from a heart that had nothing significant to look forward to. It is demonstrating an attitude that says “well, I’m going back to the same old, same old. There is nothing new happening in this life”
If your thoughts are echoed by my friend’s words, I want you to read this post prayerfully.
A lot of times we wait for something dramatic to happen and we want to use the momentum gathered from that incident to chart the course of life, but in reality most significant changes happen with small decisions backed up by consistent actions over a period of time. In this post I want to recommend three decisions that I believe will change your life inside out.
Invest in your relationship with God
Developing your relationship with Christ and making efforts to further your walk with God is an investment and not an obligation. So think of ways you could develop you life with Christ. You can consider setting a fixed time aside as your devotion time or probably you could decide to join a bible study group on Wednesdays or Fridays. You version has great bible reading plans, may be you could sign up for one of them. What ever is your choice, invest in your life with God; it is the most rewarding experience in life.
Invest in yourself
Don’t shy away from becoming a better person. The smart fellow will take time to invest in who he is and who he wants to become. May be it’s time for you to take up that music class that you have been wanting to for a million years. Do something this year that will make you a better person, that will take you closer to your God given destiny. It could be something as simple as taking a vacation and time for you to think about how the last year as faired. It could mean joining some sort of class that interests you. Don’t stop learning, don’t stop growing and stop from becoming better. You are the greatest asset you have.
Invest in others
Investing into something that is bigger than you is a great way to make a difference in this generation. Find a way to be a blessing to somebody this year. You will be amazed by the possibilities that surround you. You could consider financially supporting a charity or a church that is close to your heart. May be you could volunteer to teach under privileged kids. Pay a monthly visit to the home for the elderly in your city. Visit your pastor and bless him. The options are endless. The decision to invest in others is a very fulfilling choice.
I hope you find this post useful. Leave a comment behind and tell me what you thought of it. I love hearing from you.
