Ex-hacker, Porn addict turns to Jesus

This is a guest post by a dear friend Reuben Kora. In this post he shares how Jesus touches a lonely,addicted teen and made him the person he is today. Reuben is a young anointed leader. Has a keen sense in the prophetic. He is used by the Lord to touch and heal many lives. He currently functions with a worship ministry called Face2Face foundation.

Childhood

Since I was little, my mother had always told me I was different. The difference was noticed in school when learning became a daunting task. It took 5 years of painful schooling to really figure out what was wrong. I was diagnosed with a severe case of dyslexia. By the time I was 8, It was decided that I needed special education to counter my learning disabilities. Discrimination became a bitter part of my life I had to deal with in school.at home my parents without knowing how to approach my problem, dealt with it through punishment.

In 1996 I saw my first computer; I knew computers would become my life. I studied computers, ended up using what I learnt for hacking and other illegal activities. In 8th grade, I couldn’t write correctly but I could work with computers with great ease. Around that time while attending a crusade, I accepted Jesus as my personal savior but that dint last long as I got caught up with a worldly lifestyle and dint continue seriously with my faith walk. College got even more challenging; moving to a new city away from family lured me to indulge in vices of my own, which included hacking websites and earning some quick bucks.

Life started spiralling downhill when I became substance dependant; I became increasingly depressed and agitated with myself and everything around me.Even when a friend of mine who witnessed my salvation reminded me of life meant something back then and that I need to go back to it, I refused to leave the lifestyle I thought I was enjoying even though something subtle stirred in my heart.

Still Small Voice
Till one day I was sitting working on a new code for a site to break into, I heard this voice calling my name. The voice kept calling me over and over again. I started getting uneasy, the voice reminded of a vineyard music Concert happening in the city. So I dropped everything and went for the concert. That day in November of 2002 – my Life changed. I was 19. I had an encounter with God, and Jesus became real to me. I understood how He never forgot me and stayed with me. I found a new purpose in life.

After that experience I steadily grew in my relationship with Jesus and His word, letting go of my old ways proved to be more difficult than I thought. I was still struggling with porn addiction. I still went ahead with my baptism and believed God for deliverance and was set free from my bondages. I received the Holy Spirit and never relapsed into my old ways.

Soon after , I met with an accident that damaged my C4,C3 discs and compressed my nerves. I was unable to walk or work properly. It was the most traumatic days of my life where I spent most of my time crying all by myself.

People told me that I was suffering because I had been following Jesus. I was not really ready to believe it, after almost year of treatment and no end to the pain, I was given spinal injections to which I had reactions all through.

I had heard so many stories of Healings, so I told God that if He heals me I would leave everything and serve God. I heard the Voice again telling me to read Joshua 1:9. After reading it I was encouraged. I took a step of faith and started walking and suddenly received a miracle. With the knowledge that by His stripes we are healed, I start proclaiming the word over my injury until I was completely healed.

Armed with the confidence from the supernatural experience and the Holy Spirit, I shared the Word in my college among my friends. I was opposed and expelled from college on false charges of non attendance.I faced great shame as my parents were called and insulted and I was asked to discontinue my studies. I felt broken again because I was sent back home and had no one for me, no church, nor friends. God said: Son wait ! I have a plan.

I waited a year in the presence of God. The Holy Spirit started leading me to a church in my city in which I started getting actively involved in.in the next few months the pastor of the church started building and pouring into my life. He disciplined me and under His guidance and the grace of Holy Spirit, I started ministering in the church and grew in worship and the word. Over the next 4 years God continuously lifted me up. God started talking to me through the word and prophetic visions. With my pastor’s permission I started working with the Face2Face Foundation based In Bangalore, conducting Worship Schools and events on prophetic Worship in India. Under the Leadership of Ray William, It was the platform that God used in my life to build a deep connection with Him and get deeper into prayer worship.

Concluding Note
If you are in a desperate place turn to Jesus. There is no problem or situation that Jesus cannot touch and heal. everyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved.
