calibrated with Heaven – Part 1

Dear Friends and partners in the Lord,

All of us desire to please God and to do His will. We want to live in a way that will make God happy. Calibrated with heaven talks about how to reach out to the God of the bible and walk in His steps.

To calibrate means to align or to measure against a standard and to constantly strive to be like that standard.In the next few posts I want to talk to you about how we can align with God and his purpose.

The basics
Proverbs 23:7

For as a man “thinks” in his heart, so He is

As a man thinks in his heart or believes in His heart so He is. Who we are is not determined by the day to day circumstances we encounter in life but by what we are thinking and choosing to believe in the innermost recesses of our heart. If you alter your thought life you can alter who you are. Think about this and let it sink into your heart “what you are thinking in your heart is actually shaping your personality and who you are going to be”

Your perspectives on life, yourself, family, faith, marriage, education so on so forth will determine the quality of life you will lead and the person you will be. So thinking the right thoughts and having the right perspectives are vital.

Isaiah 55:8 & 9

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

It is very evident from this scripture that man is not calibrated with God. Our thoughts are not His thoughts. We don’t think like God thinks, our perspectives are not like His perspectives. Our ways are not His ways.God is looking for men and women who will make place in their hearts and minds for heavenly and God kind of thoughts to alter our thinking. The Bible says we are seated in heavenly places and that we have the mind of Christ. Now Now we can’t be seated with Christ in heavenly places and have stinking attitudes can we?

As you go about your routine today, just check if you’re thinking like someone who is seated next to Christ in heavenly places.
